【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC16500providesatoolboxconsistingoflowerlayerprotocolsandphysicalinterfaces.Eachtoolisapplicableatoneormoreofthereferencepointswithinthedeliverysystem.ThephysicaldeliverymediathathavebeenidentifiedforthisversionofISO/IEC16500-4arecopperpairs,coaxialcable,microwave,fiberandsatellite.Removableinformationcarryingphysicalmedia(e.g.opticaldiscsandtapes)arenotcovered.Thetoolslistedaddressthethreepartsofthedeliverysystem,namely,thecorenetwork,theaccessnetworkandtheaccess-network-independentinterfacetotheSetTopUnit(STU).ToolsarealsoidentifiedfortheSTUdataportinterfaceandforaserviceprovidersystem(SPS)internalnetworkandanSPS/SPScorenetwork.Clause6specifiesindetailthetoolsprovidedtodigitizethephysicalmediainthecorenetwork.Inthecaseofabroadbandcorenetwork,allthesetoolssupporthighspeedATMtransport.Clause7specifiesindetailthetoolsprovidedtodigitizethephysicalmediaintheaccessnetwork(copperpairs,coax,satellite,microwave,fiber).AllthesetoolssupporthighspeedMPEG-2-TStransportand/orhighspeedATMtransport.Clause8concernstheaccess-network-independentinterfacetotheSTUandprovidesadetailedspecificationofthephysicalinterfacesbetweenthenetworkinterfaceunit(NIU)andtheSTU.ThisphysicalinterfacecanbeinternalorexternaltotheSetTopBox(STB)andisindependentfromthephysicalinterfaceusedintheaccessnetwork.ItsupportsthetransportofMPEG-2-TSandATMbetweenNIUandSTU.Clause9concernstheSTUdataportinterfaceandspecifiesthephysicalinterfacesusedtoconnectanSTBtovariousperipheraldevices.ItdefinesnormativeSTUmultimediadataporttoolsandinterfacesandalsoincludesinformativespecificationsforbothPCandparalleldataports.TheseinterfacessupportthetransportofMPEG-2-TSorIP.Clause10definesthephysicalinterfacesforinterconnectionsbetweencascadedSPSentitieswithorwithoutaninterveningcorenetworkandthephysicalinterfacesfornetworksusedtoconnectvarioushostswithinanSPS.
