【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61300describestheproceduretomeasuretheabilityofanopticalfibreconnectortomaintainagivenextinctionratioacrosstheconnectioninpmfibre.Inthistestwelimitthemeasurementtothemostcommoncaseofnearlylinearlypolarizedlightpropagatinginpmfibre.Theterm"extinctionratio"usedherereferstotheproportionoflightpropagatinginthetwoorthogonalpolarizationaxesofthefibreandismoreproperlydefinedas"polarizationcrosstalk"."Extinctionratio"isthecommonlyusedterm.Thisprocedurehasbeendesignedforusewithdedicatedequipmentinamanufacturingenvironmentandthusincorporatesaratherelaboratetestconfiguration.Itshouldbenotedthatothermoredirecttestconfigurationscanbeusedinsuitablyequippedopticallaboratories.Thesemaybethesubjectofadditionaltestproceduresinthefuture.Itshouldbenotedthatthistestprocedureisnotdesignedforlongtermcontinuoustesting;driftofpolarizationalignmentcanoccurparticularlyinthesingle-modefibre.Hence,repeatedratherthancontinuousmeasurementisrequiredforlongtermtestingofcomponents.
