【摘要】:Usingthistestmethod,avolumeofrocklargeenoughtotakeintoaccounttheinfluenceofdiscontinuitiesonthepropertiesoftherockmassisloaded.Thetestshouldbeusedwhenvaluesarerequiredwhichrepresentthetruerockmasspropertiesmorecloselythancanbeobtainedthroughlessexpensiveuniaxialjackingtestsorotherprocedures.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminetheinsitumodulusofdeformationofrockmassbysubjectingatestchamberofcircularcrosssectiontouniformlydistributedradialloading;theconsequentrockdisplacementsaremeasured,fromwhichelasticordeformationmodulimaybecalculated.Theanisotropicdeformabilityoftherockcanalsobemeasuredandinformationontime-dependentdeformationmaybeobtained.1.2ThistestmethodisbasedupontheproceduresdevelopedbytheU.S.BureauofReclamationfeaturinglongextensometers(1).Analternativeprocedureisalsoavailableandisbasedonareferencebar(2).1.3Applicationofthetestresultsisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod,butmaybeanintegralpartofsometestingprograms.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
