【摘要】:Thispracticeallowstheadsorptioncapacityatequilibriumofanactivatedcarbonforadsorbableconstituentspresentinwatertobedetermined.TheFreundlichKand1/nconstantsthatcanbecalculatedbaseduponinformationcollectedusingthispracticecanbeusedtoestimatecarbonloadingcapacitiesandusagesratesfortheconstituentpresentinawaterstreamatotherconcentrations.1.1Thispracticecoverstheassessmentofactivatedcarbonfortheremovaloflowconcentrationsofadsorbableconstituentsfromwaterandwastewaterusingthebottlepointisothermtechnique.Itcanbeusedtocharacterizetheadsorptivepropertiesofvirginandreactivatedactivatedcarbons.1.2Thispracticecanbeusedinsystemswithconstituentconcentrationsinthelowmilligramsperlitreormicrogramsperlitreconcentrationranges.1.3ThispracticecanbeusedtodeterminetheadsorptivecapacityofandFreundlichconstantsforvolatileorganiccompoundsprovidedthehandlingproceduresdescribedinthispracticearefollowedcarefully.Thefollowingsafetycaveatappliestotheproceduresectionofthispractice:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
