【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofslowcrackgrowth(SCG)parametersofadvancedceramicsbyusingconstantstress-rateflexuraltestinginwhichflexuralstrengthisdeterminedasafunctionofappliedstressrateinagivenenvironmentatambienttemperature.Thestrengthdegradationexhibitedwithdecreasingappliedstressrateinaspecifiedenvironmentisthebasisofthistestmethodwhichenablestheevaluationofslowcrackgrowthparametersofamaterial.Note1Thistestmethodisfrequentlyreferredtoas"dynamicfatigue"testing(Refs())inwhichtheterm"fatigue"isusedinterchangeablywiththeterm"slowcrackgrowth."Toavoidpossibleconfusionwiththe"fatigue"phenomenonofamaterialwhichoccursexclusivelyundercyclicloading,asdefinedinDefinitionsE1823,thistestmethodusestheterm"constantstress-ratetesting"ratherthan"dynamicfatigue"testing.Note2Inglassandceramicstechnology,statictestsofconsiderabledurationarecalled"staticfatigue"tests,atypeoftestdesignatedasstress-rupture(SeeDefinitionsE1823).1.2ValuesexpressedinthistestmethodareinaccordancewiththeInternationalSystemofUnits(SI)andIEEE/ASTMSI10.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
