【摘要】:1.1Thisguidecoversaprocessforthedeterminationofacceptablesurfaceoperatingconditionsforheatedsystems.Thehumanburnhazardisdefined,andmethodsarepresentedforuseinthedesignorevaluationofheatedsystemstopreventseriousinjuryfromcontactwiththeexposedsurfaces.1.2ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.3Themaximumacceptabletemperatureforaparticularsurfaceisderivedfromanestimateofthepossibleorprobablecontacttime,thesurfacesystemconfiguration,andthelevelofinjurydeemedacceptableforaparticularsituation.1.4Fordesignpurposes,theprobablecontacttimeforindustrialsituationshasbeenestablishedat5s.Forconsumerproducts,alonger(60-s)contacttimehasbeenproposedbyWu(1)andotherstoreflecttheslowerreactiontimesforchildren,theelderly,ortheinfirm.1.5Themaximumlevelofinjuryrecommendedhereisthatcausingfirstdegreeburnsontheaveragesubject.Thistypeofinjuryisreversibleandcausesnopermanenttissuedamage.Forcaseswheremoresevereconditionsaremandated(byspace,economic,exposureprobability,orotheroutsideconsiderations),thisguidemaybeusedtoestablishasecond,lessdesirableinjurylevel(seconddegreeburns),wheresomepermanenttissuedamagecanbepermitted.Atnotime,however,areconditionsthatproducethirddegreeburnsrecommended.1.6Thisguideaddressestheskincontacttemperaturedeterminationforpassiveheatedsurfacesonly.Theguidelinescontainedhereinarenotapplicabletochemical,electrical,orothersimilarhazardsthatprovideaheatgenerationsourceatthelocationofcontact.1.7Abibliographyofhumanburnevaluationstudiesandsurfacehazardmeasurementisprovidedinthelistofreferencesattheendofthisguide(1-16).
