【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesatechniqueforevaluatingantimicrobialsinoronpolymericsolidsagainststainingbyStreptoverticilliumreticulum,andshouldassistinthepredictionofperformanceoftreatedarticlesunderactualfieldconditions.Conditioningofthespecimens,suchasexposuretoleaching,weathering,andheattreatment,mayhavesignificanteffectsonperformanceofantimicrobialsagainststaining.Determinationoftheseeffectsisnotincludedinthistestmethod.1.1ThistestmethodisusedfordeterminingtheperformanceofantimicrobialagentsusedinoronsyntheticpolymericsolidsagainststainingbytheactinomyceteStreptoverticilliumreticulum.Thisorganismhasbeenchosenasanindicatororganism,althoughotherorganismshavebeenknowntocauseundesirablestaininginpolymericsolids.1.2Thistestmethodisnotsuitableforevaluatingdark-pigmentedtestsamples.1.3Aknowledgeofmicrobiologicaltechniquesisrecommendedfortheseprocedures.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
