【摘要】:TheengineeringfunctionofmanyP/Mpartsmayrequireanexteriorportionoftheparttohaveaspecifiedcasedepthandmicroindentationhardness.Measurementofeffectivecasedepthisusedtodeterminethedepthtowhichthemicroindentationhardnessoftheexteriorportionofaparthasbeenincreasedoverthatoftheinteriorofthepart.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminationoftheeffectivecasedepthofpowdermetallurgy(P/M)parts.1.2Amicroindentationhardnesstraverseprocedureisdescribedtodetermineeffectivecasedepth.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminetheeffectivecasedepthforalltypesofhardenedcases.1.3Theprocedurefordeterminingthemicroindentationhardnessofpowdermetallurgymaterials,asdescribedinTestMethodB933shallbefollowed.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
