【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseinevaluatingthecapabilityofacontainertowithstandthesuddenshockresultingfromafreefall,ortoevaluatethecapabilityofacontaineranditsinnerpackingtoprotectitscontentsduringthesuddenshockresultingfromafreefall.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedtocomparetheperformanceofdifferentpackagedesigns.Thistestmethodmayalsopermitobservationoftheprogressivefailureofacontainerandthedamagetoitscontents.Thistestmethodisparticularlysuitableforcontainersthatarenormallyhandledmanuallyduringsomepartoftheirdistributioncycle.ContainersofsuchbulkormassthattheycannotbehandledmanuallymaybetestedmoresatisfactorilyinaccordancewithTestMethodD880,TestMethodsD6055,TestMethodsD6179,orTestMethodsD4003.SeePracticeD4169foradditionalguidance.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforthedroptestingofloadedboxes,cylindricalcontainers,andbagsandsacksbythefree-fallmethod.1.2Forcontainersnotexceeding110lb(50kg),thistestmethodfulfillstherequirementsofISOStandards2206:1987and2248:1985.TheseISOstandardsmaydescribeproceduresthatdonotmeettherequirementsforthistestmethod.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
