【摘要】:Itisexpectedthatthispracticewillbesuitabletoidentifyandquantifycontaminantsfoundinsystems,systemmaterials,andcomponentsusedinsystemsrequiringahighlevelofcleanliness,suchasoxygen.Softgoodssuchassealsandvalveseatscanbetestedasreceived.Glovesandwipes,orsamplesthereof,tobeusedinthecleaningoperationcanbeevaluatedpriortousetoensurethattheproposedcleaningsolventdoesnotextractcontaminantsandresiduesonthesurfacetobecleaned.Wipesorothercleaningequipmentcanbetestedafterusetodeterminetheamountofcontaminantremovedfromasurface.ThisprocedurecanbeusedtoobtainsamplesforNVRanalysisusingcontaminatedcontrolcouponsthatweresubjectedtothecleaningprocessascontrolstovalidatecleaningoperations.Theselectionofthesolventrequiressomeknowledgeofthecontaminant(seePracticeG93forrecommendations).Ifanonvolatileresidue(NVR)analysisistobeperformedonthemolecularcontaminant,theboilingpointofthesolventshallbesignificantlylowerthanthatofthecontaminant.Forotheranalyticalmethods,thetestermustknowtheaccuracyoftheanalyticalmethods,andthesolventshallbechosensoasnottointerferewiththeselectedanalyticalmethod.ToidentifythecompositionoftheNVR,analyticalmethodssuchasinfraredspectroscopyorgaschromatography/massspectroscopyhavebeenusedsatisfactorily.1.1Thispracticedescribesaprocedureforthedeterminationofresidualcontaminationinsystemsandcomponentsrequiringahighlevelofcleanliness,suchasoxygen,bySoxhletextraction.1.2Thispracticemaybeusedforextractingnonvolatileandsemivolatileresiduesfromsolidssuchasnewandusedgloves,newandusedwipes,contaminatedtestspecimensorcontrolcoupons,smallpiecesofhardware,componentsoftgoods,etc.Whenusedwithproposedcleaningmaterials(wipes,gloves,etc.),fromthecleaningmaterialsthispracticemaybeusedtodeterminethepotentialoftheproposedsolventtoextractcontaminants(plasticizers,residualdetergents,brighteners,etc.)anddepositthemonthesurfacebeingcleaned.1.3Thispracticeisnotsuitablefortheevaluationofparticulatecontamination.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsarestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
