【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscoverpendantandnon-pendantpowercableassemblies("pendantpowercableassemblies"and"powercableassemblies")forinterconnectingorpoweringunitsofacommunicationsorsimilarsystemwheretheassembliesareoutsidetheunitenclosuresandinstalledinareasaccessibleonlytoqualifiedpersons.Theseproductsconsistoffactory-mademultiple-conductorassembliesofconnectorstopowercablesinwhichalloftheconductorsareinsulated.TheyareforconnectionontheloadsideofListedovercurrentdevicesofa-cord-ccircuitsasspecifiedinSection240-21(a)oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70-1999.Theyarenotfordisconnectionunderloadandaresomarked.1.2Powercableassembliesareratedinvoltsandamperes.Theircurrentratingisthemaximumloadinamperesforthecableinfreeairat30~C(86~F),withderatingofthecableampacityasspecifiedinSection400-5or318-11oftheNationalElectricalCode(NFPA70-1999)whereappropriatebecauseofthenumberofcurrent-carryingconductors.1.3PendantpowercableassembliesconsistofListedTypeWportablepowercablesorListedbus-dropcablesfactory-terminatedateachendtoListedfemaleconnectors,wireconnectors,orothermeansformatingtomaleconnectors,power-supplybusbars,orfield-wiringterminals.Matingconnectorsareidentifiedontheassemblyorinaccompanyinginstructions.Forfasteningtothebuildingstructure,asupportdeviceneartheupperendofeachcablekeepstheweightofthecablefromapplyingtensiontoanywiringterminalatthesupplyorloadconnections.Thelengthofcablebetweenthesupportdeviceandtheupperterminationdoesnotexceed6feetor1.83meters.Strainreliefisalsoprovidedateachend.1.4Non-pendantpowercableassembliesconsistofListedTypeTCpowerandcontroltraycablesfactory-terminatedatoneorbothendstoListedmaleorfemaleconnectors,wireconnectors,orotherwiringdevicesformatingtoconnectors,field-wiringterminals,otherterminations,orpower-supplybusbars.Whereoneendisnotterminated,theconductorsareforindividualterminationinthefieldusingwireconnectorsListedfortheconductormaterial(copperoraluminum)andsizeandforthesolidconductorsortheparticulartypeofconductorstranding,numberofstrands,andsizeofstrandsusedinthecableconductors.TheseassembliesareappropdateforuseincabletraysasspecifiedinArticle318oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70-1999.Whereinstalledinanareainwhichtheassemblyisprotectedfromphysicaldamage,nomerethan7feetor2.1metersofthecableistobeexposedbetweenthecabletrayandtheequipment.1.5Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisOutlineofInvestigation,andthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementsasdeterminednecessarytomaintaintheacceptablelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisOutlineofInvestigation.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisOutlineofInvestigationcannotbejudgedtocomplywiththisOutlineofInvestigation.Whereconsideredappropriate,revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisOutlineofInvestigation.
