【摘要】:Thistestmethodforthedeterminationoftheflammabilityofblanketsisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofblanketssincethistestmethodhasbeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforacceptancetesting.Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluateelectricblanketfabric,buttestsshouldbeperformedonthefabricitselfwithouttheresistanceheatingwiresinserted.Allfabricsmadeofnaturalorregeneratedcellulose,aswellasmanymadefromothernaturalorsyntheticfibers,arecombustible.Somecombustiblefabricswhenusedforblanketsarepotentiallydangeroustotheuserbecauseoftheeaseofignition,rapidity,andintensityofburning.Thefirstcharacteristiccanbejudgedwiththeaidoftheflammabilitytester.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesameanstoidentifyblanketfabricswhichigniteeasilyandpropagateflameacrossthesurface.1.2Thistestmethodspecifiestheproceduresdescribedinthex201C;VoluntaryBlanketFlammabilityStandardx201D;whichhasbeenusedbytheblanketindustryintheUnitedStatessince1972.1.3Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Note18212;Thistestmethodisnotidenticalto16CFRPart1610,FlammabilityofClothingTextiles.ConsumerProductSafetyCommissionregulationsrequirethatfabricsintroducedintocommercemeettherequirementsof16CFRPart1610.1.4Firetestingisinherentlyhazardous.Adequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
