【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforsamplingofcohesive,organic,orfine-grainedsoils,orcombinationthereof,usingathin-walledmetaltubethatisinsertedintothesoilformationbymeansofahydraulicallyoperatedpiston.Itisusedtocollectrelativelyundisturbedsoilsamplessuitableforlaboratoryteststodeterminestructuralandchemicalpropertiesforgeotechnicalandenvironmentalsitecharacterizations.1.1.1GuidanceonpreservationandtransportofsamplesinaccordancewithPracticeD4220mayapply.SamplesforclassificationmaybepreservedusingproceduressimilartoClassA.Inmostcases,athin-walledtubesamplecanbeconsideredasClassB,C,orD.RefertoGuideD6286foruseofthehydraulicallyoperatedstationarypistonsoilsamplerforenvironmentalsitecharacterization.Thissamplingmethodisoftenusedinconjunctionwithrotarydrillingmethodssuchasfluidrotary;GuideD5783;andhollowstemaugers,PracticeD6151.SamplingdatashouldbereportedinthesubstanceloginaccordancewithGuideD5434.1.2Thehydraulicallyoperatedstationerypistonsamplerislimitedtosoilsandunconsolidatedmaterialsthatcanbepenetratedwiththeavailablehydraulicpressurethatcanbeappliedwithoutexceedingthestructuralstrengthofthethin-walledtube.Thisstandardaddressestypicalhydraulicpistonsamplersusedonlandorshallowwaterindrillholes.Thestandarddoesnotaddressspecializedoffshoresamplersfordeepmarineapplicationsthatmayormaynotbehydraulicallyoperated.Thisstandarddoesnotaddressoperationofothertypesofmechanicallyadvancedpistonsamplers.1.3Thispracticedoesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuseandmayinvolveuseofhazardousmaterials,equipment,andoperations.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertoestablishandadoptappropriatesafetyandhealthpractices.Also,theusermustcomplywithprevalentregulatorycodes,suchasOSHA(OccupationalHealthandSafetyAdministration)guidelines,whileusingthispractice.Forgoodsafetypractice,consultapplicableOSHAregulationsandothersafetyguidesondrilling.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.1.5Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgement.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject'smanyuniqueaspects.Theword"Standard"inthetitlemeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.Thispracticedoesnotpurporttocomprehensivelyaddressallofthemethodsandtheissuesassociatedwithsamplingofsoil.Usersshouldseekqualifiedprofessionalsfordecisionsastotheproperequipmentandmethodsthatwouldbemostsuccessfulfortheirsiteinvestigation.Othermethodsmaybeavailablefordrillingandsamplingofsoil,andqualifiedprofessionalsshouldhaveflexibilitytoexercisejudgmentastopossiblealternativesnotcoveredinthispractice.Thepracticeiscurrentatthetimeofissue,butnewalternativemethodsmaybecomeavailablepriortorevisions,therefore,usersshouldconsultwithmanufacturersorproducerspriortospecifyingprogramrequirements.
