【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasoriginallydevelopedtoevaluateoxidationstabilityoflubricatingbaseoilscombinedwithadditiveschemistriessimilartothosefoundingasolineengineoilsandservice.2Thistestmethodisusefulforscreeningformulatedoilsbeforeenginetests.Withinsimilaradditivechemistriesandbaseoiltypes,therankingofoilsinthistestappearstobepredictiveofrankingincertainenginetests.Whenoilshavingdifferentadditivechemistriesorbaseoiltypearecompared,resultsmayormaynotreflectresultsinenginetests.Onlygasolineengineoilswereusedingeneratingtheprecisionstatementsinthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheoxidationstabilityoflubricantsbythin-filmoxygenuptake(TFOUT)CatalystB.Thistestmethodevaluatestheoxidationstabilityofpetroleumproducts,anditwasoriginallydevelopedasascreeningtesttoindicatewhetheragivenre-refinedbasestockcouldbeformulatedforuseasautomotiveengineoil(seeTestMethodD4742).Thetestisrunat160176;Cinapressurevesselunderoxygenpressure,andthesamplecontainsametalcatalystpackage,afuelcatalyst,andwatertopartiallysimulateoilconditionsinanoperatingengine.Inaddition,thetestmethodhassincebeenfoundbroadlyusefulasanoxidationtestofpetroleumproducts.1.2Theapplicablerangeoftheinductiontimeisfromafewminutesuptoseveralhundredminutesormore.However,therangeofinductiontimesusedfordevelopingtheprecisionstatementsinthistestmethodwasfrom40to280min.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
