【摘要】:Thepaybackmethodispartofafamilyofeconomicevaluationmethodsthatprovidemeasuresofeconomicperformanceofaninvestment.Includedinthisfamilyofevaluationmethodsarelife-cyclecosting,benefit-to-costandsavings-to-investmentratios,netbenefits,andinternalratesofreturn.Thepaybackmethodaccountsforallmonetaryvaluesassociatedwithaninvestmentuptothetimeatwhichcumulativenetbenefits,discountedtopresentvalue,justpayoffinitialinvestmentcosts.Usethemethodtofindifaprojectrecoversitsinvestmentcostandotheraccruedcostswithinitsservicelifeorwithinaspecifiedmaximumacceptablepaybackperiod(MAPP)lessthanitsservicelife.Itisimportanttonotethatthedecisiontousethepaybackmethodshouldbemadewithcare.(SeeSection11onLimitations.)1.1Thispracticeprovidesarecommendedprocedureforcalculatingandapplyingthepaybackmethodinevaluatingbuildingdesignsandbuildingsystems.
