【摘要】:TherulesofSectionVIII,Division1provideanallowablestressfordesignofpressurevesselsthatisindependentofloadduration.Inthetimedependentregimewherefailurebycreepruptureisaconsideration,theactuallifeofthevesseldependsonanumberofthings,includingthemarginsprovidedintheallowablestresses,themarginbetweendesignpressureandoperatingpressureandthemarginbetweendesigntemperatureandoperatingtemperature.Whilematerialpropertiesforatimedurationof100,000hoursareincludedaspartofthebasisinestablishingtheallowablestress,thisisnotananticipatednoradesignlifeforthepressurevessel.
