本标准规定了三股、四股、八股聚丙烯单丝或薄膜绳索在本色或着色状态时的主要特性。这类绳索是由密度接近0.91g/cm3 属于聚丙烯类的单丝或薄膜所构成的。
本标准适用于线密度在6.0ktex与11521ktex之间,公称直径为4mm~160mm 的这类绳索。

【摘要】:Thistestmethodpermitstheevaluationofshearstabilitywithminimuminterferencefromthermalandoxidativefactorswhichmaybepresentinsomeapplications.Withinthelimitationsexpressedinthescopeofthistestmethod,ithasbeensuccessfullyappliedtohydraulicfluids,transmissionfluids,tractorfluids,andotherfluidsofsimilarapplications.Ithasbeenfoundapplicabletofluidscontainingbothreadilyshearedandshear-resistantpolymers.Correlationwithperformanceinthecaseofautomotiveengineapplicationshas,todate,notbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoftheshearstabilityofanoilcontainingpolymerintermsofthepermanentlossinviscositythatresultsfromirradiatingasampleoftheoilinasonicoscillator.Thistestmethodcanbeusefulinpredictingthecontinuityofthispropertyinanoilwherenochangeismadeinthebasestockorthepolymer.Itisnotintendedthatthistestmethodservetopredicttheperformanceofpolymer-containingoilsinservice.1.2Evidencehasbeenpresentedthatcorrelationbetweenthesheardegradationresultsobtainedbymeansofsonicoscillationandthoseobtainedinmechanicaldevicescanbepoor.Thisisespeciallytrueinthecaseofautomotiveengines.Furtherevidenceindicatesthatthesonictechniquemayratedifferentfamiliesofpolymersinadifferentorderthanmechanicaldevices.,1.3Becauseoftheselimitations,thecommitteeunderwhosejurisdictionthistestmethodfallshasdevelopedanalternativesheartestmethodusingadieselinjectornozzle,TestMethodD3945.Whilethattestmethodhasfoundsomeutilityintheevaluationofcrankcaseoils,thestressimpartedtothesamplehasbeenfoundtobeinsufficienttoshearpolymersoftheshear-resistanttypefoundinaircrafthydraulicfluids.1.4Thistestmethodisusedforpolymericadditivespecifications,especiallyinthehydraulicfluidmarket.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationalpurposesonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
