【摘要】:Manypetroleumproducts,andsomenon-petroleummaterials,areusedaslubricants,andthecorrectoperationoftheequipmentdependsupontheappropriateviscosityoftheliquidbeingused.Inaddition,theviscosityofmanypetroleumfuelsisimportantfortheestimationofoptimumstorage,handling,andoperationalconditions.Thus,theaccuratedeterminationofviscosityisessentialtomanyproductspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesaprocedureforthedeterminationofthekinematicviscosity,x03BD;,ofliquidpetroleumproducts,bothtransparentandopaque,bymeasuringthetimeforavolumeofliquidtoflowundergravitythroughacalibratedglasscapillaryviscometer.Thedynamicviscosity,x03B7;,canbeobtainedbymultiplyingthekinematicviscosity,x03BD;,bythedensity,x03C1;,oftheliquid.Note18212;Forthemeasurementofthekinematicviscosityandviscosityofbitumens,seealsoTestMethodsD2170andD2171.Note28212;ISO3104correspondstoTestMethodD445.1.2Theresultobtainedfromthistestmethodisdependentuponthebehaviorofthesampleandisintendedforapplicationtoliquidsforwhichprimarilytheshearstressandshearratesareproportional(Newtonianflowbehavior).If,however,theviscosityvariessignificantlywiththerateofshear,differentresultsmaybeobtainedfromviscometersofdifferentcapillarydiameters.Theprocedureandprecisionvaluesforresidualfueloils,whichundersomeconditionsexhibitnon-Newtonianbehavior,havebeenincluded.1.3Therangeofkinematicviscositiescoveredbythistestmethodisfrom0.2to300000mm2/s(seeTableA1.1)atalltemperatures(see6.3and6.4).Theprecisionhasonlybeendeterminedforthosematerials,kinematicviscosityrangesandtemperaturesasshowninthefootnotestotheprecisionsection.
