【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluatesthehidingpowerofatestpaintrelativetoacomparisonpaint.Theresultshavesignificanceonlywithinthatrelationship.Itmaybeusedforproductioncontrolorqualitycomparisons.Whenapaintisappliedbybrushoranyotherpracticalmethod,theopacityofthefilmisaffectedbyvariationsinfilmthicknessrelatedtotheapplicationprocedureandtotheapplicationcharacteristicsofthepaint.Twopaintsthathideequallywellbythismethodmightthereforedifferconsiderablywhenappliedwithadoctorblade,sincethelattermethodgivesessentiallyperfectleveling.Differentbrushesorsurfaceapplicationconditionscanlikewisegivedifferentresults.Note18212;TestMethodD2805describesaninstrumentalmethodforquantitativelydetermininghidingpowerwithoutreferencetoamaterialpaintstandard.Thepaintfilmisappliedatauniformthickness(forexample,withadoctorblade),thefilmthicknessismeasuredrigorously,andtheopacityisevaluatedphotometrically.Hidingpoweristherebydeterminedwithahighdegreeofprecision.TestMethodD344islessprecisethanTestMethodD2805,butismorepracticalbecauseitisresponsivetotheapplicationcharacteristicsofpaints,andissimplerinconceptandexecution.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesforthequalitativeandquantitativevisualdeterminationofthehidingpowerofatestpaintrelativetothatofacomparisonpaint.1.2Thistestmethoddescribesonlyabrushoutapplicationprocedureinspecificdetail,butitsconceptsarevalidforothermethodsofapplicationaswell.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
