【摘要】:Theserequirementscoverthefireandcasualtyaspectsassociatedwiththemechanicalperformanceandtheelectricalfeaturesofenginedrivengeneratorassembliesintendedforinstallationinrecreationalvehicles.Theserequirementscovergeneratorsrated:15kilowattsorless,115volts,2-wiresinglephase;240volts,2-wiresinglephase;115/230volts,3-wiresinglephase;3or4wire,anyvoltage,threephase.Thegeneratorsmayincorporatealternatorordirectcurrentgeneratorsectionsforsupplyingenergytobatterychargingcircuits.Onlygeneratorshavingsystemsvoltagesoflessthan150voltstogroundarepermittedfornoncommercialapplications.Theserequirementscoverbothopenandtotally-enclosedgenerators.Atotally-enclosedgeneratorissoenclosedastopreventthefreeexchangeofairbetweentheinsideandtheoutsideoftheenclosureforwindingsbutnotsufficientlyenclosedastobeairtight.Ageneratorhavingventilatingopeningsthatpermitthepassageofexternalcoolingairoverandaroundthewindingsisanopengenerator.Theserequirementscovergeneratorpartsandcombinationsofsuchparts.TheserequirementsdonotcovergeneratorsforuseinhazardouslocationsasdefinedintheNationalElectricalCode.Theserequirementscoveronlytheidentifiedhazardaspectsofmotor-generatorassembliesintendedforusewithrecreationalvehicles.Theserequirementsdonotcoverotherpossiblehazardaspectsofsuchequipment.Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthoseinusewhenthestandardwasdevelopedandthatinvolvesariskoffire,electricshock,orinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingtheappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementsasdeterminednecessarytomaintainthelevelofsafetyfortheuseroftheproductasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.
